Position Summary:

As a Head Teacher at Little People Learning Center, you will play a vital role in the development and success of our young learners. You will be responsible for creating a dynamic, engaging, and supportive learning environment, developing lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards, and ensuring the overall safety and well-being of the children in your care. We are looking for someone who brings creativity, dedication, and a passion for early childhood education to our team.

Duties Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans that align with NAEYC standards and meet the individual needs of each child. Lead and supervise a classroom of young learners, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Provide a nurturing and supportive environment for children to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain a cohesive, team-oriented approach to teaching. Maintain clear communication with parents and families, providing regular updates on children?s progress and classroom activities. Manage classroom organization, including ensuring cleanliness and orderliness at all times. Maintain accurate records of child assessments, behavior, and development. Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the center?s overall growth and success.

Requirements Must-Have Qualifications:

Head Teacher Credential from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC) is a must. Minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education (ECE). Strong knowledge of child development and early childhood education best practices. Ability to develop and implement creative lesson plans that foster learning and engagement. Excellent communication skills with both children and adults (parents and staff). Demonstrated ability to lead a classroom A passion for working with young children and contributing to their development in a positive, nurturing environment. Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl. A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Nice To Haves Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Administration of Medications A degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
