Preschool Teacher The Covenant School of Jacksonville 2300 Bartram Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207 Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team at The Covenant School of Jacksonville. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, facilitating their spiritual, academic, and developmental growth through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. This role requires a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, a Christ-centered philosophy, and the ability to manage a classroom effectively with warmth, intentionality, and professionalism. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate, Christ-centered lesson plans that promote cognitive, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development. Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom culture rooted in Biblical truth that encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity. Implement effective classroom management strategies to support positive behaviors and maintain a calm, orderly environment. Provide differentiated instruction and individualized support to meet the diverse needs of young learners, including children with special learning needs. Build meaningful relationships with families through regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and partnership in each child’s developmental journey. Organize and lead enrichment activities such as chapel, outdoor learning, music and movement, dramatic play, and sensory exploration. Maintain a clean, developmentally appropriate, and engaging classroom environment aligned with early learning best practices and licensing standards. Participate actively in school-wide initiatives, professional development, and divisional meetings with a growth mindset and team spirit. Skills Deep understanding of early childhood education principles and a play-based, faith-informed learning philosophy. Experience leading preschool classrooms in private Christian school or high-quality preschool settings. Ability to implement physical education activities and movement-based learning for young children. Proficient in classroom management techniques with a grace-filled, consistent approach. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for diverse learners, including children with developmental delays or special needs. Strong written and verbal communication skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
