Preschool Co

  • Assistant Director HendrixPresley Learning Academy Pensacola, FL 32506 Overview Managing a child care center is a big job.

Duties Compliance:
  • Stay informed of new standards brought forth by the State of Florida, Early Learning Coalition (ELC), Office of Early Learning (OEL), and the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS).
  • Conduct daily classroom inspections. Report any concerns to the Director.
  • Ensure all classrooms are abiding by standards through daily classroom observations.

This time is also used to provide support (staff breaks, bathroom rounds).

Teacher Oversite:
  • Assist in oversight of day-to-day operation of the center and lead by example of Grow With Us policies and procedures.
  • Visit classrooms daily and provide feedback to teachers on areas of improvement.
  • Meet with teachers monthly for informal “check-ins” to monitor well-being.
  • Assist in the recruitment, development, and engagement of a highly talented team of teachers to ensure the center is staffed to support capacity of enrollment.
Administration:
  • File all incident reports and other relevant classroom paperwork.
  • Print daily sheets and create copies when requested by teachers.
  • Maintain and update bulletin boards in the entryway of the center and classrooms with most up to date announcements and information.
  • Create, maintain, and update all children accounts in procare and physical file
  • Manage and enter emergency contacts and set up codes per parent request.
  • Enter and track immunizations and physicals.
  • Review weekly reports (rosters and emergency contacts).
Customer Service:
  • Communicate and behave in a professional manner with staff, children, parents, visitors, and any other person who may enter the facility at any time.
  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences.
  • Assist Director in creating culture-building activities to increase morale and parent interaction.
  • Plan and organize special center events, including book fairs, graduations, Thanksgiving feast, and Holiday programs.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with families and staff to provide the best care and education for children.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and positive learning environment through daily classroom inspections.
Inventory:
  • Oversee all inventory matters to ensure the center has appropriate resources on hand.
  • Maintain supply inventory (classroom & paper) on a weekly basis. Provide items needed to the director.
  • Maintain food Inventory to ensure all menu items are in stock. Provide items needed to the director.
  • Ensure teacher supply rooms and cabinets are organized and fully-stocked neatly.
  • Meet monthly with the Educational Coordinator to review lesson plans and determine essential items.

Foster positive relationships with parents, staff, and the community to support children’s learning and development. Educate staff on best practices in early childhood education and provide ongoing professional development opportunities. Requirements Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must possess all licenses/certifications or specialized training as required by State law and/or regulatory agencies to include the 45 hours training course

  • Strong management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Procare and G-mail. A CDA or Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Required Florida Director Credential
  • Required A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
