United Way Miami is looking for an Infant Toddler Teacher who will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development for children 0 to 36 months. The focus of our work is to provide comprehensive high-quality early care and education to low-income families living in this area. The ideal candidate understands concepts around Visible Thinking, Multiple Intelligence, Dual Language, Inclusion, Early Literacy strategies, and Reflective Supervision.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Teacher/Child Interactions Teachers are expected to complete daily observations of children and create daily experience plans that build on children’s prior experiences. Encourage and model appropriate behavior and expectations. Teachers are responsible for capitalizing on opportunities to help children build vocabulary, by asking the children a series of follow-up questions to get a deeper understanding from the children. Program In collaboration with others in the program, make decisions daily on materials, activities, and environments that provide a balance that supports the child’s learning. Responsible for the observation, and documentation of each child’s health, behavior, growth, and development. Supervise children, following all safety and health rules for the eight children in the classroom. Keep the environment safe, clean organized, and accessible to children. Complete appropriate documentation to report incidents and accidents. Requirements Education Requirement:

High School Diploma or GED and 45 DCF hours.
