Pay Range:
$14.50/hr About this opportunity: This position is responsible for providing childcare services for adolescents including personal care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, and specialized programs. “The Sallie House, which began operation in 1990, exists as a safe haven for children up to 17 years of age who have been removed from their home because of abuse, neglect or abandonment. The physical structure operates in dormitory style in conjunction with local and state authorities, with The Salvation Army providing a place of respite for young people in need.” Key responsibilities:
- Provides constant care for the needs of the children in an efficient, clean, loving, safe, secure, and healthy manner.
- Implements age-appropriate activity and development plans utilizing discovery areas and hands-on activities.
- Observes the needs and progress of the children, communicates with Lead/Case Manager providing input and documentation on the physical, emotional, social, and academic needs of the individual children. What we are looking for in you:
- High school diploma or
G.E.D. AND
- Two years’ Childcare experience
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Child Behavior and Development.
- Knowledge of First Aid and C.P.R and ability to ensure the safety of children.
- Must possess State Driver’s License and safe driving record.
Candidate must pass Local Law Enforcement, State of Florida Dept. of Children and Families (DCF) and FBI background screenings.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal childcare environment where changes in weather and discomforts associated with outdoor activities may occur. Duties are performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Employee Benefits
