Part Time/ Non-Exempt General Description of Job:
The Assistant to the Preschool Director is responsible for the daily operations of the Preschool program.
Responsibilities:
- Assists Preschool Director in day-to-day operations including class structure, curriculum, and special programs
- Maintains student files, follows up on missing documentation and provides support to teachers as needed
- Develops relationships with parents, staff and outside vendors as necessary
- Handles communication from staff and parents, in the absence of or at the direction of the Preschool Director
- Performs annual review of both the Parent Handbook and Employee Handbook, proposing changes as necessary
- Maintains confidentiality as outlined by Bright from the Start and North Georgia Conference guidelines
- Attends staff meetings, as called, on a weekly and/or monthly basis
- Works with Preschool Director on long-range planning
- Maintains our social media platforms
- Performs other duties, as assigned, which may not be specifically outlined in this job description
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position:
- Work experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role early childhood education center
- Promise to uphold the philosophy of the United Methodist Church regarding the spiritual development of young children
- Pass a background check and drug screening
Skills Required:
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite
- Basic knowledge of financial management
- Basic knowledge of human resources, personnel policies, procedures and labor laws
- CPR/first aid Certification
- Knowledge of social media platforms
