Job Summary:

We are seeking a warm, patient, and dedicated Infant Teacher to join our team. The Infant Teacher will be responsible for providing attentive and loving care to infants ranging in age from approximately 6 weeks to 12-18 months. This role involves creating a safe and stimulating environment, meeting the individual needs of each infant, and fostering their early development through nurturing interactions and age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities:
Providing Nurturing Care:

Offer consistent, responsive, and individualized care to each infant, meeting their basic needs such as feeding, diapering, comforting, and holding. Creating a

Safe Environment:

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that is conducive to exploration and development. Ensure all safety guidelines and regulations are followed.

Supporting Developmental Milestones:

Observe and document each infant’s development, including physical, cognitive, social, and emotional milestones. Implement age-appropriate activities that encourage growth in these areas.

Implementing Curriculum:

Follow the center’s infant curriculum, adapting activities to meet the individual needs and interests of the infants in your care. This may include sensory exploration, music and movement, and early language development activities.

Building Positive Relationships:

Develop warm and trusting relationships with each infant and their families. Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s day, progress, and any concerns.

Following Schedules and Routines:

Establish and maintain consistent daily schedules and routines for feeding, napping, and activities, while remaining flexible to meet individual infant needs.

Maintaining Records:

Keep accurate daily records for each infant, including feeding times and amounts, diaper changes, nap times, and any significant observations or incidents.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other infant teachers and center staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Health and Safety:

Follow all health and safety policies and procedures, including proper handwashing, sanitation of toys and surfaces, and emergency protocols.

Professional Development:

Continuously seek opportunities for professional growth and development in the field of infant care and early childhood education.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education 1 or a related field preferred. Previous experience working with infants in a daycare or childcare setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of infant development milestones and age-appropriate activities. Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with infants. Ability to lift and carry infants, and to get down on the floor and interact at their level. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic. Must pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements for childcare providers. Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Knowledge of health and safety regulations in childcare settings.
