Full Job Description Position Summary:
The Assistant Preschool Director supports the Preschool Director in the day-to-day management and operation of the preschool. This role involves helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education, maintaining compliance with state and local regulations, and fostering a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in supervising and supporting teaching staff, aides, and other personnel.
- Help develop and implement curriculum in alignment with developmental guidelines and school philosophy.
- Oversee daily classroom operations and help resolve any staff, student, or parent concerns.
- Monitor classroom activities to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with licensing requirements.
- Coordinate staff schedules, substitute coverage, and training opportunities.
- Help manage enrollment, tours, parent communication, and orientation.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Plan and support school events, meetings, and community engagement activities.
- Step in as acting director when the Preschool Director is unavailable.
- Promote a positive school culture that supports child development and teacher engagement.
Qualifications:
- Child Development, or a related field (required).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory experience.
- Meets or exceeds all state licensing requirements for child care program administration.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Familiarity with relevant software (e.
g., Procare, Brightwheel, or similar systems).
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Effective communication with children, parents, and staff.
