Full Job Description Position Summary:

The Assistant Preschool Director supports the Preschool Director in the day-to-day management and operation of the preschool. This role involves helping to ensure the delivery of high-quality early childhood education, maintaining compliance with state and local regulations, and fostering a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for children and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising and supporting teaching staff, aides, and other personnel.
• Help develop and implement curriculum in alignment with developmental guidelines and school philosophy.
• Oversee daily classroom operations and help resolve any staff, student, or parent concerns.
• Monitor classroom activities to ensure safety, quality, and compliance with licensing requirements.
• Coordinate staff schedules, substitute coverage, and training opportunities.
• Help manage enrollment, tours, parent communication, and orientation.
• Maintain student records, attendance, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Plan and support school events, meetings, and community engagement activities.
• Step in as acting director when the Preschool Director is unavailable.
• Promote a positive school culture that supports child development and teacher engagement.

Qualifications:

• Child Development, or a related field (required).
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in early childhood education, including supervisory experience.
• Meets or exceeds all state licensing requirements for child care program administration.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Familiarity with relevant software (e.

g., Procare, Brightwheel, or similar systems).

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Effective communication with children, parents, and staff.
• Problem-solving abilities and emotional intelligence.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a leadership team.

Working Conditions:
