Responsibilities:
Provide attentive supervision and quality care for children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Plan and lead engaging, developmentally-appropriate activities that support cognitive, emotional, physical, and social growth Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that meets Louisiana childcare licensing standards Establish positive relationships with children, parents, and co-workers Communicate daily with families regarding each child’s progress and routines Assist with diapering, potty training, feeding, and other caregiving routines as needed Follow all state regulations and center policies related to health, safety, and curriculum Work as part of a team to ensure a smooth, cooperative daycare environment
Qualifications:
Patience, reliability, and a genuine love for working with young children High school diploma or GED required CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Experience in a licensed childcare or daycare center, or preschool setting Familiarity with Louisiana Department of Education childcare regulations (LDE Licensing) CPR and Pediatric First Aid certification (or willing to obtain) Strong understanding of early childhood development and best practices
