This role plays a key part in organizing, implementing, and evaluating a high-quality early childhood education experience that aligns with YMCA values and EEC regulations. Essential Functions Provide active supervision and positive guidance to children at all times Prepare and implement weekly and daily lesson plans, including monthly newsletters and daily communications Support children during enrichment activities and special programming Maintain open, ongoing communication with parents and guardians, including daily updates Attend and participate in staff meetings, a minimum of two YMCA events, and all childcare family events Adhere to all YMCA policies, health and safety guidelines, and EEC licensing regulations Complete developmental progress reports for assigned students, including family conferences and written evaluations at least twice per year Participate in special events as needed Uphold and enforce all behavior management policies as outlined in the Parent Handbook EEC Teacher Certification required Must obtain CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire Minimum age of 18 Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field At least one year of teaching experience required Experience working in a licensed childcare center preferred Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and families Demonstrated ability to prepare and implement engaging, age-appropriate programming
