Preschool Teacher General Duties and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a qualified Preschool Teacher for a PreK classroom to help develop the social and emotional growth of our students. Our goal as a preschool is to contribute to the healthy social, mental, and emotional development of each child so they can more easily acclimate to the next level of education. Teachers must have a love and patience for children. Some qualifications needed include the ability to develop age appropriate curriculum, knowledge of best practices and preschool educational methods as well as the ability to engage all students.
Supervision:
Preschool teachers work under the direct supervision of the Preschool Director.
Work Hours:
Preferred hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. Base school hours 8:30 – 12:30, Extended Day hours 12:30 – 4pm. Base school hours required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to develop an engaging and creative program suitable for Pre-K children.
- Employ a variety of educational techniques and offer daily experiences/activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. This could be through storytelling, educational play, media, etc.
- Willingness to utilize available areas of the Club (pool, gym, basketball court, learning center) to enhance the children’s preschool experience.
- Willingness to go off-site (walking) to places such as the library, fire station, or nearby playgrounds.
- Promote positive self-esteem in the children while helping them improve their social competencies and encourage positive interactions with their peers, teachers, and other building staff members.
- Establish and consistently follow daily routines.
- Assess the developmental status of each child and be able to complete written assessments for parents and the children’s files.
- Participate in staff meetings and continuing education workshops and/or trainings (required).
- Participate in other activities as needed, for example; classroom, school wide and/or community events that support or promote the growth of the preschool.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience working in an Early Education & Care (EEC) Licensed Preschool Program required.
- Current Early Education & Care (EEC) teacher certification.
- Microsoft Office (or similar platform) and web competency preferred.
Compensation:
$19.00 to $23.00 per hour
