Overnight Residential Specialist (Wed-Sat) 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 1968 Central Avenue, Needham, MA 02492 For over 60 years, Walker Therapeutic and Educational Programs is a leading non-profit organization providing comprehensive programming in the fields of child welfare, children’s behavioral health, and special education. We proudly serve over 150 communities in MA, with our clients coming from diverse racial and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, who struggle predominantly with anxiety and trauma. These services are offered through; Residential, CBAT, and Intensive Treatment Programs, Special Education Day School, Therapeutic Middle-High School, Out-Patient and In-Home Therapeutic Services. Walker Therapeutic and Residential Treatment Programs is currently looking for a full-time awake Overnight Weekend Milieu Specialist. Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Milieu Specialist will act as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team for children with emotional and behavioral challenges. They will focus on social, recreational, and behavioral needs of children and ensure that the physical and emotional needs of children are being met on a daily basis. Successful candidates must be committed to child centered, family focused culturally competent care and strength based treatment; be a team leader and communicate effectively with teammates. Must have valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to transport children into the community.

Essential Functions:

Oversee the planning and implementation of social and recreational activities for children; including summer and vacation programming. Work as a part of a multidisciplinary team to further the emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children. Communicate outcomes of appointments and manage follow up needed in regards to children’s care. Actively participate in supervision and professional development opportunities offered at Walker. Provide a therapeutic milieu environment for children, maintaining a safe and healthy environment; and meeting the physical needs of children. Ensure units meet physical standards of licensing at all times. Implement treatment protocol established in children’s treatment plans and individual support plans. Properly attend to administrative functions of a childcare worker including attending required meetings; completing written reports; writing tasks and presenting at treatment updates. Provide supervision of children. Apply Walker’s model of childcare, including therapeutic crisis intervention methods, and physical restraint. Follow and implement all Walker policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
