Summary:

The Head Teacher role is responsible for the overall effective management of the early childhood classroom. This includes, but is not limited to, providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate care and education for young children in cooperation with families, assistant teachers, and administrators.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education:

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field required.

License/Certifications:

Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Professional Recognition (preferably focused on the age-group assigned to teach), CDA equivalency as defined by NAEYC required. Current BLS Certification and First Aid Certification required.

Experience:

One year of teaching/caregiving experience in group childcare/preschool setting required. Experience with the Creative Curriculum and NAEYC Accreditation preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
