Long Term Preschool Substitute Busy Bees Childcare, LLC 2 Harold L Dow Highway, Eliot, ME 03903 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Substitute Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that students continue to receive quality education in the absence of their regular teacher. This role requires effective classroom management skills and the ability to communicate clearly with students of various ages and backgrounds. Responsibilities Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity of education. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, fostering an atmosphere of respect and encouragement. Support students with special needs, utilizing strategies that promote inclusion and engagement. Assist in the supervision of students during activities outside of the classroom, such as recess or lunch. Provide feedback on student progress and behavior to the regular teacher upon their return. Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those in early childhood education settings. Engage in tutoring sessions as needed to support student understanding, particularly in subjects like math. Requirements Experience working with students in an educational setting is a must. Credentials will be considered. ECE degree preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Strong classroom management skills to effectively handle diverse classroom dynamics. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with students, staff, and parents. Familiarity with special education practices is a plus. Ability to adapt teaching methods for various learning styles and abilities.
