This role helps maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and steps into classrooms when a regular staff member is absent.

Description Duties:

Assist in classrooms with activities, supervision, and transitions Follow lesson plans left by lead teachers when substituting Ensure the health and safety of all children Help with diapering, toileting, and mealtime routines Maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom spaces Communicate with children, parents, and staff in a respectful and professional manner Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and age groups

Requirements:

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues Ability to adapt to the needs of individual children and provide appropriate support Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate activities Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children Ability to maintain a safe and secure environment for children High school diploma or GED required Experience in early childhood education preferred Flexibility to work with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers Must meet state licensing requirements for background checks and training CPR/First Aid certified or willing to obtain Salary $8 – $10 per hour
