Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch is a nonprofit child and family serviceorganization that provides residential family-style living in arural setting for boys and girls in need of a safe, home-likeenvironment. We are currently seeking House Parents to join ourteam at our historic campus near Amarillo, TX. In this role, youwill be responsible for providing direct care services and creatinga home-like environment for children in need.

The House Parent playsan instrumental role in creating a positive and nurturingenvironment for children who need a safe place to call home. As aHouse Parent you will work directly with children to providesupport, guidance, and positive reinforcement. You will helpchildren with daily tasks and activities, and you will beresponsible for creating a sense of family within yourhome.

Responsibilities:

Live in your assigned cottage, helping to care for and providefor up to eight children. Teach and lead cottage rules and daily routines. Provide encouragement, guidance, and counseling toresidents. Participate in educational and recreational activities with theyouth. Ensure that all children’s physical needs (food, shelter, etc.)are met. Help children build self-esteem and gain skills to overcomedifficult situations. Act as a positive role model to youth by demonstratingappropriate behaviors and attitudes towards others.

Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in child care or related field is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a team. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings andweekends. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Must be 21 or older. Ability to work independently with strong problem solving anddecision-making skills.
