Early Learning Collaborative Teacher

JOB GOALS

To support the delivery of the Lee County Early Learning Collaborative written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To ensure the reflection and communication of a positive image and attitude toward decisions and functions of the district as they relate to the public, staff, parents and students.
To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

QUALIFICATIONS

Holds a current MS teaching license.
Has knowledge of curriculum framework and relevant coursework.
Is highly qualified in appropriate grade and subject.
Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written communication.
Displays ability to establish and maintain a positive rapport with students, staff, parents and the public.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable..

REPORTS TO

Director of Early Childhood

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, prepares, and delivers instructional activities that facilitate active learning
experiences.
Develops and maintains written lesson plans based on Early Learning Collaborative guidelines and provided curriculums.
Establishes and communicates clear objectives for all learning activities.
Develops and implements instruction and assessments at the appropriate developmental level.
Prepares classroom for class activities and keeps classrooms neat, clean, and orderly.
Provides a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
Identifies and selects different instructional resources and methods to meet students’ varying needs.
Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
Uses relevant technology to support instruction.
Observes and evaluates students’ performance and development, based on data (MKAS, Brigance screener, etc.).
Encourages and monitors the progress of individual students.
Maintains accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Updates all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies, and collaborative regulations.
Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
Participates in department meetings, school meetings and parent meetings.
Communicates necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and needs. Stays abreast of current developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and makes relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
Participates and implements new strategies obtained through professional development.
Maintains high standards, ethical behavior and confidentiality of student issues
Exemplifies strong work ethics and professionalism (i.e promptness, attendance and professional dress).

OTHER DUTIES

Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The salary and length of contract shall be established by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal or designee in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
