Childcare Teacher/Floater Flaming Sword Christian Academy 3230 Legion Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348

Responsibilities:

• Meet regularly with teachers and other staff to develop weekly age appropriate lesson plans and activities for all age groups.
• Responsible for implementing performance standards, policies and procedures, regulations and guidelines in the day to day operation of an early childhood development center.
• Able to learn each teachers daily routines within their classroom and the individual routines for each child.
• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
• Monitor and supervise children during playtime, meals, outside play, and naptime
• Assist with potty training and personal hygiene tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
• Educate yourself on all state compliance regulations to childcare as well as our own internal policies and procedures, and to enforce (when necessary) in a professional and caring manner.
• Be flexible so you are able to move into different classrooms. Qualifications/Experience/Skills
• Must have a degree or working towards a degree in early childhood or at least 15 credits in the early childhood program
• Previous experience working in a daycare or preschool setting preferred
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
• Familiarity with special education techniques and strategies
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom of young children
• Experience in lesson planning and curriculum development
• Understanding of child welfare guidelines and regulations
• A positive mindset towards child learning and development
• Desire and ability to work with children of all ages with diverse backgrounds and levels of ability
• Able to work cooperatively as part of a team
• Self-control
• the ability to maintain composure and keep emotions in check during stressful situations
• Dependable, responsible, and punctual
• Flexible and adaptable, willing to fill in where situations require
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
