Job Description
Infant Development Assistant Angier Baptist Child Care 87 South Hickory Street, Angier, NC 27501 The Infant Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Infant Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants (ages 6 weeks to 12 months). This role involves assisting in implementing daily routines, engaging in age-appropriate activities, maintaining cleanliness and safety, and building positive relationships with infants, families, and staff.
Schedule:
Monday- Friday 10am-6pm
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with the care, supervision, and engagement of infants in accordance with developmental needs. Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily activities that promote emotional, physical, social, and cognitive development. Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with appropriate materials. Change diapers, feed infants, and maintain accurate records of feeding, sleeping, and diapering. Observe and document infant behavior and development, reporting concerns to the Lead Teacher or Director. Build positive relationships with parents and communicate daily about their child’s progress and needs. Maintain compliance with all licensing and health regulations, including sanitation and safety standards. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. Support a collaborative and respectful classroom culture. Responsibilities Provide attentive care and supervision to infants and toddlers in a safe and nurturing environment. Assist in the implementation of age-appropriate educational activities and programs. Monitor and document children’s development and behavior, communicating any concerns to parents and staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom and play areas. Collaborate with other educators to support individual learning needs and promote a positive classroom atmosphere. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including first aid procedures. Qualifications Experience preferred working with infants and toddlers in a childcare or daycare setting Background in early childhood education and teaching Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred Ability to manage classroom dynamics and provide nurturing care Experience with special education or working with children with disabilities is a plus
