POSITION SUMMARY:

After orientation and training, this position assists in providing care Monday – Friday from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. in a center-based program in Henderson County. This individual provides high-quality supplemental teacher support in classrooms for ages 0-5 and works with students with a wide range of learning, mental, emotional, and physical abilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides high-quality, responsive caregiving and educational experiences to enhance school readiness that comply with the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requirements and Head Start Performance Standards in an Early Head Start setting. Hourly wage is based on education. $24.82 requires a Bachelor’s degree in ECE or an Unrelated Bachelor’s with 18 credit hours of ECE coursework.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Minimum:

Infant Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) OR a state awarded certificate that meets or exceeds the requirements for a CDA credential.

Preferred:

Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development or baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with focus on infant and toddler development. Degree(s) must be from an accredited college recognized by the NC Department of Child Development and Early Education.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of infant/toddler teaching experience or two years within a NC licensed 5-star child care facility/program. Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred.
