Substitute teachers will generally be scheduled at least 2 weeks in advance. Teachers may also be asked to fill in the night before when another teacher has to call out. You will be tasked with engaging children in age-appropriate individual and group-based activities to stimulate growth in their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, behavioral, and motor skills. We strive to foster an environment of creativity, individuality, safety, and social maturity. Responsibilities will include classroom management, ensuring student safety, and light cleaning of the classroom. In order to qualify for this position, you must have the following but not limited to: A personal and active relationship with Jesus Christ. A passion for working with children in a faith-based environment. EDU 119 or the equivalent. May be working on a degree in early childhood education or a related field. Must have a solid understanding of early childhood development and education. Must have some experience with toddlers. Previous preschool experience preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Must pass a background check. Must either be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to attend a certification class. Our school mainly follows WCPSS Traditional School Calendar.
