Summary We are seeking a passionate Childcare Assistant to join our team at Piggyback Rides & Slippery Slides. In this role and under the direction of the lead teacher, you will be responsible for helping create a safe and stimulating environment for children, ensuring their well-being while promoting their educational growth. Your contributions will be vital in shaping the early experiences of our little learners. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children in a safe and nurturing environment. Assist the lead teacher in setting up age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning. Provide supportive care including assisting in clean up, diapering/potty training and general supervision Maintain a clean and organized classroom space that fosters exploration. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress and needs. Monitor children’s behavior and development, addressing any concerns promptly. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Certification in First Aid and CPR is essential. Experience working with young children in a childcare setting is preferred but willing to train the right person. Strong understanding of child development principles. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. This position is flexible with either part-time (afternoons) or full-time hours.
