Job Description:

As a Support Teacher at Primrose School at Afton Village locatedat 5401 Vining St NW Concord, NC 28027 you will help young mindsexplore, discover and understand the world around them. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Teacher to plan andimplement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social,emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child, inaccordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning approach to teachingand learning. Primrose School at Afton Village is an accredited private preschoolthat provides a premier educational childcare experience. We offeryear-round programs for children from infant throughelementary-aged school age.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Is responsible for the overall supervision and daily classfunctions of a group of children.
• Observes all rules and regulations at Primrose School of/at(school name) and the local, state or national regulatory agenciespertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
• Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedulein accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning curriculum andprogramming.
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourageschildren to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.
• Provides verbal recognition and acceptance to children whileproviding clear and consistent expectations for the children’sbehavior.
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeepingduties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
• Maintains overall professional personal appearance adhering tothe guidelines offered in the Primrose School of/at (school name)Employee Handbook
• Assists in other capacities that Director, or designee,determines is necessary.

Desired skills and experience:

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatoryagency
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensedearly childhood program preferred
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of youngchildren
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

in connection with thehandling of children for the facilitation of programs, childsafety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and YoungToddler teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into andout of a crib. Compensation:
