Job Description
Newport School District is seeking a passionate and qualified Preschool Teacher to provide instruction for students, age 3-5, with typical development as well as students with disabilities during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. The ESY teacher will implement IEP goals, provide a structured and supportive learning environment, and collaborate with related service providers and paraprofessionals.
The ESY Program will be tuesday-thursday mornings from 8 am – 12 pm, beginning 7/7/25, ending 8/1/25.
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with student IEPs
Create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
Collaborate with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
Maintain accurate data on student progress toward IEP goals and provide written reports at end of the program
Communicate with families as needed to support student participation
Attend mandatory training and planning meetings prior to program start
