Full Job Description Qualifications:

High School Diploma Prior personal or work experience with the elderly Bilingual in Spanish preferred

Roles and Responsibilities:

Observe participant and report any changes in their condition to Director of Nursing. Ensure ongoing activities that address memory loss and self-esteem. Plan and implement programs for client activities. Develop and post monthly client activity schedules. Maintain a record of schedules and document client participation in activities. Organize the activities area and supply cabinets/pantry daily. Collect daily client attendance and assist during meal service. Perform clerical duties including copying and filing. Serve as a transportation aide as necessary and assist with trips. Assist with any other duties as assigned to keep the program running smoothly.

Types of Activities involved:

• Parties, meetings, and special events.
• Exercise, dancing, shopping trips, trips to places of interest, celebrate special occasions.
• Crafts, poetry, drama, music therapy, art therapy.
• Discussion groups, guest speaker programs, and concerts.
• Religious services and observances of ethnic and cultural events.
• Cognitive and sensory individual/group stimulation for clients.

Additional Responsibilities:

Ensure the center provides a diversity of programs to maintain clients’ sense of usefulness and self-respect. Develop and maintain an ongoing program to address memory loss and self-esteem. Perform any other duties as assigned.
