Aftercare Staff 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 167 Palisade Avenue, Bogota, NJ 07603 Job Summary The Afterschool Program Staff plays a vital role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of children within a structured program. This position involves working closely with students to provide guidance, support, and enrichment activities that foster learning and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience with children, and a commitment to creating a positive and nurturing environment. Duties – the hours are 2pm – 6pm, 5 days a week Assist in the planning and implementation of educational programs and activities for children. Provide supervision and support during classroom activities, ensuring a safe and engaging environment. Educate students on various subjects while promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain order and encourage positive behavior. Offer tutoring support to students who may need additional help in specific subjects. Work collaboratively with other staff members to create an inclusive atmosphere for all students, including those with special education needs. Engage in Christian counseling practices when appropriate, providing emotional support and guidance. Ensure the well-being of children by maintaining first aid certifications and being prepared for emergencies. Skills Strong background in Early Childhood Education or related fields. Experience working with children in various settings such as childcare, camps, or tutoring environments. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to effectively handle diverse groups of students. Knowledge of special education practices to accommodate individual learning needs. Ability to educate and inspire students through creative lesson plans and engaging activities. Familiarity with first aid procedures to ensure the safety of all participants. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and other staff members. A compassionate approach rooted in Christian values that promotes emotional well-being among students. This role is essential for fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages growth, development, and positive experiences for all children involved in the program.
