Helping Hands Childcare Center is a warm, inclusive, and nurturing early childhood education center dedicated to fostering the growth and development of young children. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Head Teacher to lead our team and classroom with creativity, professionalism, and care.
Position Overview:
The Head Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports the emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of children. This role also provides leadership to assistant teachers, maintains compliance with state regulations, and partners with families to support each child’s success.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with early childhood best practices and licensing standards Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times Conduct regular observations and developmental assessments Maintain open communication with families and provide regular updates Manage classroom documentation and ensure compliance with all licensing requirements Collaborate with the Director on curriculum development and staff training Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom
Qualifications:
Minimum of a CDA (Child Development Associate) credential or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred At least 2 years of experience working in a licensed early childhood setting Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Must meet all state and local licensing requirements, including background checks, fingerprinting, and health clearances CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with diverse populations and inclusive practices Familiarity with Experience Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD, or similar frameworks Bilingual abilities a plus
