Daycare Assistant Lightbridge Academy matawan Matawan, NJ 07747 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. As a Daycare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children of various ages. Your responsibilities will include supporting lead teachers, engaging with children in meaningful activities, and ensuring their well-being throughout the day. Responsibilities Assist in the daily care and supervision of children in a daycare setting. Implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development. Support lead teachers in managing classroom activities and maintaining an organized environment. Engage with children through play, storytelling, and educational games to enhance learning experiences. Monitor children’s behavior and implement behavior management strategies as needed. Provide care for infants and toddlers, including diaper changes, feeding, and comforting. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a supportive community. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the classroom and play areas. Requirements Experience in childcare or related fields such as babysitting or toddler care is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles is essential. Ability to manage behaviors effectively and work with children with disabilities is a plus. Strong communication skills to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues. A nurturing attitude with a genuine love for educating and caring for young children. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the classroom environment. Previous experience working in a classroom setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
