This position involves working closely with children to facilitate activities, provide guidance, and ensure their well-being throughout the camp experience. Ideal candidates will have a passion for working with youth and the ability to foster a positive atmosphere that encourages learning and personal growth. Duties Supervise and engage campers in various activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment. Plan and implement age-appropriate games, crafts, and educational programs. Provide support in behavior management, helping campers navigate social interactions and resolve conflicts. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized camp environment. Educate campers on safety protocols and first aid procedures as necessary. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns. Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team dynamic that enhances the overall camp experience. Experience Candidates should possess relevant experience that may include: Working with students in educational or recreational settings. Demonstrated skills in classroom management or behavior management techniques. Background in babysitting or childcare roles, particularly with early childhood education or daycare settings. Familiarity with camp environments or summer programs is preferred. Certification in First Aid or CPR is a plus, enhancing the ability to respond to emergencies effectively.
