Summer Camp Counselor Brierwood Child Care of Lancaster 4920 William Street, Lancaster, NY 14086 Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team at Brierwood Child Care in Lancaster for an enriching summer experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for children. You will be responsible for guiding campers through various activities, fostering their development, and ensuring their well-being throughout the camp experience. Responsibilities Supervise and engage with campers during daily activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities that promote childhood development. Provide guidance and support to campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and personal growth. Monitor camper behavior and implement effective behavior management strategies as needed. Maintain a clean and organized camp area, ensuring all equipment is safe for use. Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff to foster a positive camp community. Administer first aid when necessary and maintain health and safety standards at all times. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices. Experience in childcare or working with children in various settings such as daycare or educational environments. Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to respond to emergencies effectively. Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a positive learning atmosphere. Ability to educate campers through engaging activities that promote learning and personal growth. Experience working with students in a camp or similar setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, parents, and staff.
