The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of early childhood development. This role involves creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for children of various age groups, including infants and preschoolers. The Childcare Assistant will be responsible for fostering positive relationships with children and their families while promoting learning through play. Duties Supervise and engage with children in a safe and caring environment. Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development. Provide infant care, including feeding, changing, and comforting as needed. Manage behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques. Maintain a clean and organized classroom or daycare setting. Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s progress and any concerns. Support children with disabilities by implementing individualized care plans when necessary. Educate children about basic hygiene, social skills, and routines to encourage independence. Meal preparation, cooking meals and snacks Effectively communicating with teachers, parents, and other staff members about children’s progress, needs, and any concerns. They may also help with record-keeping and documenting children’s development. Contributing to a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where children feel secure and encouraged to explore, learn, and grow. Experience Previous experience in childcare settings such as preschool, daycare, or babysitting is preferred. Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones is essential. Experience working with children with disabilities is a plus. Strong skills in behavior management to effectively guide children’s interactions. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate educational activities into daily routines.
