As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a crucial role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes learning and growth for preschool-aged children. This position requires creativity, patience, and the ability to engage children in meaningful educational experiences. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with early childhood education standards. Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration and discovery. Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support each child’s development. Monitor and assess children’s progress in various areas including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Facilitate engaging activities that promote learning in areas such as math, literacy, and social skills. Provide individualized support to children as needed, including early intervention strategies for those who may require additional assistance. Maintain an organized classroom that is conducive to learning and adheres to health and safety regulations. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns. Skills Strong understanding of childhood development principles and practices. Experience in childcare settings, particularly with preschool-aged children. Knowledge of early intervention techniques to support children’s learning needs. Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate math and other foundational skills. Experience working in private schools or similar educational environments is a plus. Proficiency in classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning atmosphere. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues. Creativity and enthusiasm for teaching young children through play-based learning approaches.

Requirements:

To qualify, you must possess (or be on track to hold by September 1) one of the following New York State teaching certificates: Early Childhood (Birth-Grade 2); Nursery, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6 (N-6); Prekindergarten-Grade 6 (P-6); or Students with Disabilities (Birth-Grade 2)•
