Part-time Daycare Assistant Kiddie Haven Daycare 82 Mead Street, North Tonawanda, NY 14120 Job Overview We are looking to hire 2 people. 1 shift would be 1:30 p.m. until 5:30 pm and the other shift needed hours are 2:00 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thankyou We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong understanding of childhood development. As a Daycare Assistant, you will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This role is essential in fostering the growth and development of young minds through play, education, and care. Responsibilities Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development. Supervise children during playtime, meals, and nap times to ensure safety and well-being. Support children with special needs and those with disabilities by providing individualized attention and care. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any concerns. Help manage behavior through positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies. Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess children’s developmental milestones and adapt activities accordingly. Requirements Experience working with children in a daycare or preschool setting is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices. Familiarity with special education practices is a plus. Strong caregiving skills with an emphasis on patience, empathy, and understanding. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment. A background in early childhood education is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to interact with children, parents, and staff members.
