Daycare Assistant Bella’s Day Care Woodside, NY 11377 Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This position involves supporting lead teachers in daily activities, ensuring the well-being of each child, and fostering their development through play and structured learning. Duties Assist in the supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement. Support lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational activities that promote childhood development. Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Provide care for infants and toddlers, including feeding, diapering, and comforting as needed. Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and daily activities. Assist with classroom management to create a positive learning atmosphere. Observe and document children’s behavior and development for assessment purposes. Collaborate with team members to create a supportive environment for children with special needs or disabilities. Skills Experience working with students or children in a daycare or educational setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures to ensure children’s safety. Familiarity with infant care practices, including feeding and diapering. Experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and classroom management strategies. Ability to engage children in meaningful play while promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive growth. Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with children and parents alike.
