Preschool Floater/Breaker Kiddie Academy 60 Carleton Avenue, Islip Terrace, NY 11752 Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and nurturing Preschool Floater/Breaker to join our team. This role is essential in providing support across various classrooms, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and be flexible in adapting to different classroom needs. Duties Assist teachers in daily classroom activities and routines. Supervise and engage with children during playtime, meals, and transitions between activities. Provide care for toddlers and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety and well-being. Support curriculum implementation by assisting with educational activities and lesson plans. Help manage behavior in a positive manner, promoting social skills and emotional development. Participate in classroom setup and cleanup to maintain an organized learning environment. Collaborate with teachers to identify individual child needs and provide appropriate support. Foster a nurturing atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, and learning. Skills Experience or knowledge in toddler care, preschool education, or daycare settings. Familiarity with Montessori principles or other early childhood education methodologies. Understanding of childhood development stages and age-appropriate practices. Ability to assist in curriculum development that meets the diverse needs of children. Skills in behavior management techniques to promote positive interactions among children. Tutoring experience or knowledge of early math concepts is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
