In this key leadership position, you’ll directly supervise our Program Manager for Camp and Afterschool, serving as the connective thread across our program areas. From aligning staff hiring and credentialing to strengthening training systems and enrollment processes, your leadership will bring cohesion and innovation to our youth-serving programs. Responsibilities Program Leadership & Oversight Provide strategic oversight of all out-of-school time programs, including before care, afterschool, vacation camps, and Camp Funkist. Support day-to-day operations of the Children’s Learning Center (CLC) in partnership with the Director of Early Childhood Education. Supervise the Program Manager and seasonal staff, ensuring alignment across all program areas. Oversee program scheduling, daily staffing, and coordination of shared resources and spaces. Conduct tours for prospective families and assist with enrollment targets, admissions, and waitlist management. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance Ensure ongoing compliance with

regulations for all childcare programs, including timely submission of required documentation and adherence to health and safety protocols. Maintain staff credentialing, medicals, and training compliance in partnership with HR and program directors. Lead internal audits and documentation reviews to ensure readiness for inspections and monitoring visits. Monitor and enforce staff-child ratios, licensing standards, and emergency procedures across program sites. Staff Supervision & Professional Development Support the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of program staff in alignment with licensing and organizational standards. Conduct regular supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations of direct reports. Coordinate and track annual professional development hours, training schedules, and staff certification renewals. Serve as acting administrator for the Children’s Learning Center when the Director is unavailable. Family & Community Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with families through consistent communication, feedback opportunities, and participation in events. Represent the organization at outreach and community events to support program visibility and enrollment. Collaborate with families and school district partners to ensure continuity of care and a responsive program model. Contribute to the planning and execution of family engagement events across all program areas. Data & Systems Management Oversee accurate and timely use of Brightwheel or other data systems to track attendance, child records, incident reports, and communications. Analyze program data and feedback to support continuous improvement efforts. Assist with monthly reporting, billing reconciliation, and roster updates in collaboration with administrative staff. Skills in early childhood education or youth development, with at least 1 year in a NYS OCFS-licensed program. Experience must include direct oversight of both school-year and summer programming. Hands-on experience managing or supporting NYS-permitted children’s camps, regulated under Subpart 7-2 of the New York State Sanitary Code. Must be familiar with camp health and safety plans, staff-to-camper ratios, incident reporting protocols, and Department of Health compliance. Proven success leading diverse teams across multiple program settings — including infant/toddler classrooms, preschool, afterschool, and summer day camp — with measurable outcomes in enrollment, staffing, regulatory compliance, and family engagement. Demonstrated ability to manage administrative systems for staff credentialing, enrollment tracking, training documentation, and licensing compliance. Strong digital proficiency, including experience with Brightwheel (or similar childcare management systems), Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and PowerPoint to support program communications, reporting, and planning. Collaborative leadership style with a strong record of cross-functional teamwork, team supervision, and effective communication with families, staff, and external stakeholders.

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. 15-Hour Director Training Required (within first 30 days of employment)

NYS OCFS

Program Administration Credential or equivalent coursework is a plus.

Additional Qualifications:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) Highly preferred. Strong commitment to the mission and values of the YWCA. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and time-management skills with proficiency in data tracking and digital recordkeeping (e.g., Brightwheel, Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families, staff, and external partners.
