Early Childcare Teacher•Part Time 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 2200 Golden Mile Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15239 The YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh is looking for a fun and energetic person who wants to make a difference in the lives of children ages 6 weeks through age 5. The early childcare teacher provides developmentally appropriate early childcare education Program by implementing curriculum and education to children 6 weeks through age 5. This includes active supervision, family engagement and communication with parents/guardians, and working with fellow staff. Experience working with children is required. Job Responsibilities 1. Provide opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving based on developmental level and learning styles of the children. 2. Oversees safety and supervises the children in the classroom; provides supportive environment in which children can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors. 3. Interacts with parents by maintaining open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child’s family relationships. 4. Writes and compiles individual assessments of each child’s development; completes daily report and child attendance.
EARLY CHILDCARE TEACHER QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 18 years of age•and•2 years experiences working with youth Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and to safely supervise program activities. Reliable transportation to arrive at work location at scheduled time

ONBOARDING PROCESS
Must complete a health physical and TB test 3 letters of Reference needed upon hiring Clearances Act 33, Act 34, Act 151 and NSOR letter. Mandated Reporter Certification within 45 days of hire (paid training) 10 hours of virtual DHS training (paid training) Complete CPR, Pediatric First Aid training within the first 90 days of hire. (paid training)
