We?re a Reggio-inspired preschool in the heart of Port Royal, SC, nurturing wonder, building belonging, and inspiring creativity in children ages 1 to 4. Duties About the Role As a teacher at Sea Island Sprouts, you’ll be an active co-researcher alongside children. You?ll create environments that encourage curiosity, support social-emotional development, and celebrate each child?s unique voice and ideas. Our program emphasizes hands-on exploration, outdoor learning, and strong community connections?not worksheets or screens. What You’ll Do Develop emergent curriculum and provocations based on children?s interests and observations Support daily rhythms including meals, rest time, and transitions with respect and consistency Use documentation to reflect on learning and communicate with families Collaborate with co-teachers to maintain a beautiful, safe, and engaging classroom Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues Participate in ongoing professional development and reflective practice Requirements Qualifications Experience working in early childhood education, especially in play-based or Reggio-inspired settings Enthusiasm for working with toddlers and/or preschoolers Ability to observe, reflect, and adapt to meet children?s developmental needs Comfortable working outdoors and embracing mess, mud, and creativity SC DSS training or willingness to complete required background checks and certifications CDA, Associate?s or Bachelor?s in Early Childhood or a related field preferred but not required Benefits Why Work With Us Small class sizes and low ratios (1’s and 2’s 1:6; 3’s and 4’s 1:8) Competitive pay and paid professional development USDA-approved meals provided for staff and children Collaborative, supportive workplace culture Paid time off, paid holidays
