Nursery Worker Bethesda United Methodist Church 516 Piedmont Road, Easley, SC 29642 Schedule is Sundays from 8:45 am to 12:15 pm (limited Sundays off are permitted with prior approval) Job Responsibilities To provide care for children (ages newborn – 5 years old) while parents/guardians attend church functions on the campus of Bethesda United Methodist Church. Caregiver will be assisted by at least one other volunteer church member on Sunday mornings. A volunteer Nursery Coordinator helps with arranging volunteers during these service times. Care expected to include, but not limited to: changing diapers when necessary, monitoring snacks and drinks provided by parents/guardians, taking note of any special instructions given by parents, notifying parents if a child is overly upset, engaging children with toys, games, books, etc. To maintain an accurate sign in sheet for children left in the nursery. To be responsible for making sure safety and security measures are followed (caregiver will be trained on required safety measures). To maintain a welcoming presence and environment for all who attend. Making a special effort to learn regular attendees’ names as well as parent’s names. To keep nursery area tidy, cleaning toys and surfaces used by children. When weather permits, monitor children on the church playground area adjacent to the nursery. Required Skills and Background Applicant will be asked to complete and pass a background check, as well as complete “Safe Sanctuary” training required by the United Methodist Church. Previous childcare experience, preferably with references. Desired Skills and Background Previous experience working alongside volunteers CPR/first aid training
