Afternoon Preschool Teacher 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars Oak Ridge, TN 37830 Summary First Steps is seeking a part-time afternoon teacher for our Preschool program, to start ASAP. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in an early childhood educational setting, and especially have experience working with children ages 3-5. The preferred candidate will also hold a minimum of a C.D.A in early childhood education or beyond, or is currently working toward a related degree. The hours for this position are 12pm-5:30pm Monday through Friday. Experience and knowledge of DHS rules and regulations as well as Developmentally Appropriate Practices is preferred. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children of all ages and be flexible, energetic, professional, and eager to be part of an excellent team of early childhood educators. Duties Supervise and provide care for young children, following DHS rules and regulations Help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum Engage, play, and be actively involved in the care and activities of the children Coordinate with the other teachers in the room with everyday cleaning and other duties Attend required monthly Staff Meetings Complete required trainings per DHS requirements and First Steps requirements Hold and maintain current certification in CPR/1st Aid for all ages Be willing or open to further education in early childhood education or a related field as is warranted Requirements At least 18 years old Minimum high school diploma or GED Able to lift 40 lbs, bend, crouch, get on floor with children Must pass background check Minimum 2 years experience in an early childhood educational setting preferred Nice To Haves Five or more years in an early childhood educational setting Two or more years specifically working with preschoolers C.D.A. or higher in early childhood education or related field Benefits Competitive pay Health Insurance available for full-time employees 12 paid holidays per year PTO accrual annually based upon scheduled hours Pension benefits after 1 year Discounted tuition (50%) for employees with age-eligible children Paid trainings
