Infant-Toddler Teachers (Full-Time) General Position Description Little Wonders Early Learning Center is a new early childhood endeavor (established Aug 2022) committed to caring for the young children of public-school teachers and staff in Nashville. We are looking for those with a passion for nurturing young children’s growth, development, and sense of wonder. The ideal candidate should also possess a strong desire to develop their own professional knowledge and skills as an educator. Infant-Toddler teachers will work with children between 6 weeks – 36 months of age. This position requires experience with lesson planning, classroom management, partnering with parents, and the ability to collaborate with others to create a cohesive classroom teaching team. CDA, Associates, or Bachelor’s degree in education, child studies, or related field strongly preferred. Little Wonders teachers are salaried employees with 6 weeks of paid time off per year, competitive salaries (based on education and experience), and comprehensive benefits package. This position reports to the Site Director. We are hiring for positions at multiple locations in Nashville (37210, 37209, and 37211) with start dates from 5/27/25 through 6/30/25. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing learning environment Support children’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards. Administer and analyze age-appropriate physical and intellectual assessments, using assessment data to inform classroom instruction. Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching. Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth. Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily reports Foster a collaborative and supportive parent community Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met. Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children. Supervise teacher assistants and classroom volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities, hygiene and safety standards. Maintain accurate records, forms and files. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Minimum of 3 years of professional child care or early childhood teaching experience. Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. A strong understanding of child development. Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification. Must clear full background check and must pass health screening. Educational Requirements Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl and lift up to 40 lbs in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. A specific vision ability will be required including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
