Floaters will support teachers in a variety of childcare classrooms working with children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. This position is perfect for those who love young children and are eager to develop their practical skills through hands-on time in classrooms. This is a part-time position working 20-30 hours per week. This position is Monday-Friday from 7:30am-12:30pm, OR M-F from 12-5pm. Must have reliable transportation. This position reports to the Site Director. We are hiring for positions at multiple locations in Nashville (37210, 37209, and 37211) with start dates from 5/7/25 through 6/30/25. Key Responsibilities
- Alongside the classroom teacher(s), maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing learning environment
- Support children’s social and emotional development and provide positive guidance
- Coordinate and implement educational curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, with guidance from the classroom teacher(s).
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
- Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous professional growth. Additional Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents). Team player who is self-driven.
- An interest in child development and early education.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening. Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Physical Requirements
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels.
May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl and lift up to 40 lbs in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. Employment Type & Wages Part-Time, hourly. Floater salaries begin at $16/hr. Pay is based on education and experience.
