Job Description

Early Childhood Toddler Teacher A Bright Future For Tomorrow Academy Humboldt, TN 38343 Summary A Toddler Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for toddlers, typically aged 1 to 3 years old. Toddler teachers play a critical role in fostering early childhood development by facilitating social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. They create engaging and age-appropriate activities while ensuring the well-being of each child under their care.

Duties Curriculum Development:

Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote toddler development, including language, motor skills, and social interactions. Foster a play-based learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery.

Classroom Management:

Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning. Manage toddler behavior and encourage positive social interactions, including conflict resolution and sharing.

Individualized Care:

Attend to the specific needs of each toddler, including diapering, feeding, and naptime routines. Provide one-on-one attention and support to children with special requirements or developmental challenges.

Parent Communication :

Establish open and regular communication with parents or guardians to share updates on children’s progress, daily activities, and developmental milestones. Conduct parent- teacher conferences to discuss goals, achievements, and areas for improvements.

Health and Safety:

Ensure the health and safety of all toddlers by following hygiene guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, and responding to medical needs as necessary. Implement emergency procedures and drills to prepare for unexpected situations.

Creative Activities :

Organize and lead creative and sensory activities that stimulate imagination and self- expression, such as arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.

Team Collaboration:

Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to plan and coordinate school-wide events, activities, and professional development.

Continuous Professional Development:

Stay updated on best practices and educational trends in toddler care and early childhood education through training, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Requirements Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred). CPR and First Aid certification (often required). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with toddlers. Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual learning styles. Knowledge of toddler development milestones and early childhood education techniques. Background check and fingerprinting ( often required). Immunization records and health screenings (often required). Teaching experience in a toddler or early childhood setting ( preferred). Nice To Haves Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
