$24.3K – $29.1K a year 14 hours ago Qualifications Childcare High school diploma or GED Communication skills Entry level Under 1 year Full Job Description Summary The Childcare Floater plays a vital role in maintaining the daily operations of the childcare program by supporting multiple classrooms as needed. This position requires a flexible, adaptable individual who can assist teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for children. The floater works with children of varying ages, from infants to preschoolers, depending on the needs of the day.

Work Schedule:

The Childcare Floater?s schedule will vary depending on the needs of the center. Flexibility is essential, as coverage may be required during early mornings, late afternoons, or throughout the day.

Duties Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:

Assist lead and assistant teachers in daily activities, transitions, and routines. Provide coverage during breaks, absences, or when additional help is needed.

Child Engagement:

Interact positively with children, encouraging their curiosity, development, and participation in activities. Maintain a warm and nurturing demeanor.

Supervision:

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care. Monitor children during play, rest, and mealtimes, stepping in to address safety concerns as necessary.

Teamwork:

Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide consistent and high-quality care across all classrooms. Maintain clear and respectful communication with team members.

Cleaning and Organization:

Help maintain clean, organized, and safe classroom environments by tidying up, sanitizing surfaces and toys, and assisting with setting up or breaking down activities.

Flexibility:

Be prepared to adjust your schedule and classroom assignments daily, based on the center?s staffing and operational needs.

Compliance:

Follow all childcare licensing regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of Little Oaks Academy. Requirements A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must be able to pass a background check and meet all state licensing requirements for childcare staff. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to changing situations and work with children of varying ages and needs. Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds, sit on the floor, and actively engage with children.
