As a licensed childcare provider, we must adhere to numerous regulations set forth by DHS and other agencies. A typical day as an Infant Teacher includes meeting the needs of the children in your class, providing meaningful interactions throughout the day, documenting daily events, communicating effectively with families and staff, and light housekeeping. Responsibilities for Infant Teacher
- Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care
- Feed bottles and baby food
- Change diapers as needed, at least every two hours
- Soothe infants by singing, talking and cuddling with them
- Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys
- Put infants in cribs for nap time, follow all safe sleep guidelines
- Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean Qualifications for Infant Teacher
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- Meet annual professional development requirements
- First Aid and CPR Certified, or willing to obtain within the first 90 days
- Caring individual who enjoys interacting with young children
- Able to lift up to 30 pounds
- Able to sit in the floor for extended periods of time
- Reliable transportation to the center
- Maintain a positive attitude and communicate respectfully to parents and staff at all times
- A passion for early childhood development
