This position is part time (approximately 30 hours per week) to start which may end up in a full time position as we grow. This person will relieve the lead teachers for lunch breaks and at the end of each day to close out classrooms. The position requires experience with children 6 weeks old and older. Our center has served the Claxton community (between Powell and Clinton) for over 30 years. We are looking for someone that enjoys inspiring children, provides quality care, and to become a cooperative positive addition to our staff. Duties The Teacher is responsible for managing the day-to-day operational activities of an early childhood classroom.

These responsibilities include:

Have fun playing with children Create and plan classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards Maintain good communication with parents, staff and supervisors. Ensure all center policies and state regulations are followed. Ensure a healthy classroom environment

  • including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.

Maintain accurate records, forms and files. Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement. Requirements Hold a minimum of a High School diploma or GED Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer/technical product (tablets) skills. High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. A strong understanding of child development and education with some experience working with children Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification

  • (do not need to start but will have to acquire soon after starting position) Must clear full background check and must pass health screening. Excellent planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
