Full Job Description Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and passionate Substitute Teacher’s to join our team to teach our Toddler/Infant classes. Candidates will have a genuine love for working with young children. Infant teachers are responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for infants and toddlers, fostering their physical, mental, and emotional development. This involves providing basic care, implementing age-appropriate activities, and communicating with parents about their child’s progress Key responsibilities include: Providing a safe and loving environment: This includes ensuring the classroom is clean, organized, and free from hazards. Caring for infants’ basic needs: This includes feeding, diapering, and comforting infants as needed.
Developing and implementing age-appropriate activities:
This involves creating lesson plans and engaging infants/toddlers in activities that promote cognitive, social, and motor skills development. Observing and assessing each child’s development: This includes monitoring milestones and identifying any potential developmental delays or concerns.
Communicating with parents:
[With permission from school administration or the regular classroom teacher] This involves providing regular updates on their child’s progress, sharing observations, and collaborating on strategies for supporting the child’s development. [Direct parent communication should be reserve for teacher or administration]. Maintaining a clean and organized classroom: This includes ensuring toys, materials, and play areas are kept clean and sanitized.
Following safety and health regulations:
This includes adhering to all state and local regulations related to early childhood education and care.
Participating in professional development:
This helps teachers stay up-to-date on best practices in infant care and education.
Collaborating with other staff members:
This ensures a cohesive and consistent approach to caring for and educating the infants.
Modeling appropriate behavior:
This includes demonstrating positive social interactions and communication skills.
Administering basic first aid:
This involves having certification in CPR and First Aid and knowing how to respond to minor injuries or illnesses. Requirements Experience working with young children in a childcare setting is essential. Good communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues. High School Diploma/GED Able to working with children with disabilities [would be good] A genuine passion for educating young minds and fostering their growth.
