Teacher Job Summary:

The Teacher will be responsible for maintaining the day to day classroom operations while adhering to the company’s mission of providing a safe, loving, and nurturing environment for children to grow, develop, and shine. The successful candidate will be energetic, organized, a problem solver, and possess great communication skills. This individual needs to be passionate about early childhood education and dedicated to the success of our next generation. The lead teacher will be responsible for the academic, social-emotional growth and development of all of the children in their care.

The day to day responsibilities:

The Teacher is responsible for the oversight and management of their assigned Mt. Juliet Early Learning Center classroom. This position is responsible for all curriculum implementation, classroom and center activities, assistant teacher training (if applicable), record keeping, and overall student care. The qualified candidate will work with parents, administrators and other teachers to improve students’ experience and meet teaching objectives. Additionally, lead teachers will plan, evaluate and improve the physical environment of the classroom in accordance with program goals and philosophy to create opportunities that meet the changing needs of each student. They will ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment is maintained at all times for their students.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Must undergo a background check Child Care experience preferred Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities Ability to easily build rapport with students, families and fellow team members Friendly, positive, and approachable demeanor Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and work ethic at all times Proficient computer skills Have a thorough understanding of child care center operations Strong organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority

Physical Requirements:

Able to frequently lift or move an average weight as in lifting, carrying, and holding children (10-40 pounds) Occasional heavy weights (over 60 pounds) Able to interact with children, teachers, and parents on the playground, in the office, or in the classroom Able to stoop and bend to interact on a child’s level Able to seek assistance to perform physical demands on the job if necessary, such as lifting a heavy object or moving heavy objects This is a full time position. Hourly pay rate commensurate with experience and skill set. Will report to the Assistant Director and Director of the center.
