POSITION SUMMARY
The Infant Head Teacher isresponsible for meeting the daily needs of infants 6 weeks to 15months. The Infant Head Teacher must be able to provide excellentguest service by encouraging engagement among all children in theclassroom, and continuously communicating with parents/guardiansabout their child’s experience during that given day. The InfantHead Teacher is responsible for observing and documentingchildren’s development as well as creating developmentallyappropriate curriculum. Teachers must maintain the facility in ahealthy and safe working order, while observing all state mandatedregulations. This is a full-time year-round, benefit eligibleposition. Starting wage for this position is $24.00/hour.
ESSENTIALDUTIES
Build relationships with children and families through dailyinteractions Ensure age appropriate activities and schedules arefollowed in your classroom Assure all infants needs are met anddocumented through the day Observe and assess infants developmentover time Develop and implement age appropriate curriculum Maintaina cooperative and supportive attitude with other staff members Beknowledgeable of the state child care rules and regulations andfollow as outlined Attend monthly meetings with Childcare ManagerComplete annual professional development Perform administrativetasks as needed Train and ensure all childcare staff knowsemergency policies and procedures Participate and assist in,coordination of emergency procedures Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma,or equivalent required Child Development Associate (CDA)Certificate, or Vermont Career Ladder III, required Bachelor orAssociates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Developmentor 21 College credits in a related field
Experience:
At least 1year experience working in a licensed child care center Experiencewith caring for infants
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL ANDABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be 20 years of age, or older Must meet orexceed Vermont Standards for a Teacher Associate or higher FirstAid & CPR certification Strong communication skills, written andverbal
