Pediatric Neuropsychology ClinicalFaculty, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences The Department ofPsychiatry and Behavioral Sciences currently has over 45 full-timefaculty with wide interests in psycho-oncology clinical care,teaching, and research. This full-time Pediatric Neuropsychology faculty position providesa blended opportunity to improve pediatric cancer survivorshipthrough continuing to expand a robust clinical assessment programand participate in collaborative research at a premier cancercenter. The faculty position includes providing comprehensiveneuropsychological assessments for a diverse population of patientsand survivors, aimed to enhance and improve their overall level offunctioning

  • both in and out of the classroom.

Referrals arereceived from a wide range of Pediatric disease teams with whom youwill collaborate closely, including Pediatric Neuro Oncology, LongTerm Follow Up, Leukemia/Lymphoma, Psychiatry, Psychology, BoneMarrow Transplant, Neuroblastoma, and Sarcoma, etc. The facultymember will also assist in supervising Post Doctoral Fellows andPsychology Externs in appropriate methods of assessment, scoring,interpretation, feedback, and report writing. There will also bethe opportunity for collaborative research on current studies thatseek to improve neurocognitive outcomes and quality of life forsurvivors of childhood cancer. Key Requirements This search is opento potential candidates with a Ph.D. or Psy.

D. at all levels ofcareer experience and appointments will be made at an academiclevel commensurate with the appointee’s experience:

  • Applicantsmust possess a doctorate degree such as Doctor in Philosophy (PhD),Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or equivalent from an APA accreditedDoctoral program.
  • Applicants must possess a full and unrestrictedlicense to practice clinically in the State of New York (or must belicensed in another jurisdiction and be eligible for licensure inNew York and New Jersey).
  • Candidates must have clinicalexperience, as well as appropriate training, in working withpediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients and their familiesin a medical setting.
  • Eligible for appointment at an academicrank ranging from Assistant Professor to Professor.
  • Exceptionalinterpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of patientsand parents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills andpassion for teaching.
  • The ability to work in a cohesive teamenvironment.
